It’s Victoria Day in Canada today. Public holiday, summery month…it’s one of the best long weekends in the year.
We will be ripping out all the interior walls on the main floor of our house this weekend, and putting up a support beam in their place. It’s one of the prep stages before we do a whole-floor renovation starting on Canada Day long weekend, at the tail-end of June (one of the other great long weekends in Canada).
Victoria Day is always the last Monday in May, except for when that Monday falls after the 24th, in which case, it pushes back a week. That’s what happened this year, one of the few years when the United States’ Memorial Day doesn’t coincide with Victoria Day.
