Atlas Obscura recently posted about strange things found inside books.
What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever found?
I have found other people’s homework notes, letters and strange bookmarks. Dead bugs. Pressed flowers — especially those I’ve pressed myself and forgotten about. (And my, they bring back memories!)
I think the strangest thing I’ve ever found is a note I wrote myself, decades ago. I don’t remember writing it at all. I can’t even remember the context, or recall what I might have been thinking when I wrote it–the handwriting is definitely mine, and the syntax suggests I was very young. The context also says I was very cynical, too. That probably means I wrote it as a teenager (the epitome of angst and cynacism).
But, I’m completely blank about why I wrote the observation about human nature.
You? What have you found? Share it in comments.
Cheers,
