I’m having a very happy time at the moment, writing my ass off and thinking about stories whenever everyone will leave me alone for three minutes. This new production schedule seems to be working for now. (I can’t help making that conditional – have you ever noticed that when things are running smoothly and working out, you start to wonder when the wheels will fall off?)
This fourth book is Alexander’s story. You may remember him from the second book, Kiss Across Swords, when Brody, Veris and Taylor met him at the end of the eleventh century, at the Siege of Jerusalem. Alex was a Fatimid who converted to Christianity, and brought with him all his eastern medical knowledge and skills, which proved to be incredibly useful in the second book.
Fast forward to our times, and Alexander is still a doctor, but after a thousand years he has begun to question everything: His faith, his purpose in life, even the meaning of life itself.
Alex is in for a hard time. Examinations of the soul are always painful. Besides, Queen Tira is stirring more mischief. Then there is the lovely Sydney Stevens, that he met in Kiss Across Chains, whose own painful past will trip both of them up.
Taylor, Brody and Veris also return.
I’ll dangle snippets and more as the book progresses. But in the meantime, here’s the new cover!
