How Long Can You Hold Your Breath?

I’m terribly aware of the fact that my summer has been a complete disaster, writing-wise, and that some of you (I won’t name names) are feeling a bit impatient for the long promised big book [The Branded Rose Prophecy] which wasn’t published when I thought it would be. I’ll talk about that another day, but I am very aware that you’re waiting…and waiting….

Family-wise, my summer was freakin’ fantastic – my Mum came out from Australia and visited for a month. (Hi Mum!!! <waving>   Mum reads all my posts!) My oldest son got married, in a beautiful mountain setting. And my daughter got engaged.

On top of that, Mark and I spent all our spare time on renovations. Well, more like Mark has spent all his spare time – I got to spend a lot of time doing it for a week, and then more on weekends, but I had this big book to write (you might have heard of it), so I occasionally disappeared down my story-telling hole.

Needless to say, I’m feeling a bit guilty about how long it has taken to deliver on The Branded Rose Prophecy, and I have worked to create a consolation prize.

I wrote a short story for Halloween. Yup. I’ve been writing two stories at the same time.

So, if you can wait just under a week, I’ll upload the story for Halloween – ready for you to download. Oh yes, and it’s free. Consider it a little gift from me to you for your endless patience.

By the way, I’m about forty pages off finishing The Branded Rose Prophecy. So it looks like the December 1 date is viable. No more waiting!

Make sure you’re subscribed to my blog (if you aren’t already), so you don’t miss out on the story when it goes up.
