Christmas Cheer of a Different Sort

autumn

It’s very nearly the end of August and depending on what country you’re sitting in, the end of August is also considered the end of summer.

Some countries hang in until mid-September for the official end, but here in Canada, it doesn’t matter—come September 1, the weather seems to consult the calendar and pull down the shades, turn on the chill and put the sun to bed earlier…and it all seems to happen overnight. You’ll have green leaves one day, and turning leaves the next. Poof!

I learned a quirky little fact: August is the month with the highest birth rate in the USA.

Why is it quirky? Well, if you count back on your fingers, that means most people got pregnant in December the year before, which means for the majority of parents, December was a very fun time!
