Hailing from Australia, Tracy. Have to confess I just got your name from an article for romantica writers.

I’ve read soft-core’s by Harlequin, a few by Siren Publishing, and still think there is a lack of ‘adventurous plus intelligent’ romance. Those that involved heroic,larger-than-life,world-scale, out of the ordinary characters and plots. Like mixing movies The Mummy or Underworld with sensuality.

I myself is not hopeless, without education, impoverished,or in need of protection. Although there is nothing wrong with those traits I gradually find it hard to related to overtly popular plot of damsel in distress and gorgeous man with the upper hand. Some adventures and macro events would be refreshing.

That sucks about the day job, Tracy, but congrats on getting to focus on writing full time.

And FWIW, medievals rock my world. Good, edgy, sexy stories, regardles of genre, but throw in a knight with a warhorse, and look out!

Oh, and thanks for causing me to PANIC when I went to your old blog for the first time in awhile! ;o)

    • Ooops on the Oooops.

That IS a dud link. Here’s the working one: http://www.tracycooperposey.com/vengeance.xhtml. That’ll take you to Heart of Vengeance. And when I get a moment (!) I’ll have to change the link on the website, too. Thanks for letting me know.

      Cheers,

      t.

It’s okay, it looks like you’ve made up for it by putting most of that content on your website! I love that little how many books I could have written instead of whining about having no time calculator….sobering stuff!

Hey, I clicked on the link for Heart of Vengance and got the oops.

I’ve got a friend who is a die hard medieval lover, too. In fact the reason I don’t buy more romances is the medievals are so few and far between. Which is scary, because that’s what I want to write. I occasionally will pick up chick lit and enjoy it, and while I don’t go out of my way for paranormal, the ones I’ve read I’ve enjoyed. But I will scour the shelves and knock little old ladies down for a good medieval. Shows what the editors know, eh?

  5. Nat — I absolutely agree. I find it difficult to even write less-than-intellgent heroines, and I’m completely incapable of doing TSTL characters. Thanks for the insight. You’ve given me some food for thought. -t.

  6. Medievals…wow, it’s so fascinating, Colleen, how many dedicated medieval romance readers I speak to, yet the editors keep telling me the market is dead, dead, dead. I have a medieval novel, Heart of Vengeance, that is technically out of print, that I’m working to get back into print, and it’s an uphill battle.

I’m sorry I panicked you about Anchored Authors. I hated having to pull the plug on that blog. It was one of the toughest decisions of my life. I’m glad I was missed, and I’m very glad you made it here.
