The Big Secret…and A Big Contest.
You’ve no idea how scary this is. I’ve been holding this close to my chest for months, running a double life, and…well, basically lying and pretending, and now I get to step out of the closet. I know there’s a few people have figured it out before now. And I know there were a few people who I thought had figured it out, who, when I challenged them on it, were so genuinely shocked and startled by the truth, I was taken aback. I’ve walked around for months thinking there was this huge neon sign on my forehead blinking on and off with the truth in blazing letters, and that I was giving myself away over a dozen times a day.
You see, I’m Teal Ceagh.
Woah. Deep breath. There. It’s out.
Why am I now coming out of the closet and revealing all?
I originally kept Teal Ceagh very separate from Tracy Cooper-Posey because, well, she writes waaay different stuff from me. I write possibly the mildest erotic romantic suspense Ellora’s Cave has to offer. They even have a name for it: Boiling plain vanilla.
Teal Ceagh writes the hottest of MMF ménage paranormal romance and urban fantasies that Ellora’s Cave have to offer, and that’s a pretty extreme jump from mild romantic suspense. I didn’t want to readers to get whiplash crossing the two genres, and having two separate pen names makes marketing a lot easier. Besides, I wanted to see if the writing stood on its own. (It does…boy does it ever!)
However, I’ve had these huge disruptions in my personal life lately, and now I can’t keep up with three blogs, three Facebook accounts, three sets of everything (I’ve also been running a marketing business on the side, too). I just don’t have time anymore. So I’ve been paring down everything, and that meant bringing Teal over here to my home blog and melding the two sets of books and so forth. That also meant telling the world who Teal really was, which would make my life considerably simpler.
There’s a small bonus in all this: It also means that Teal can start attending conferences, too.
And that’s the story in a nutshell.
You’ll find Teal’s original website here: http://tracycooperposey.com. Over the next few weeks, I’ll close it down and combine the contents with this one.
But in the meantime, let’s get to the fun stuff.
As a celebration of Teal & Tracy coming out of the closet, so to speak, I’m throwing a gi-normous contest.
Two winners will each get:
1. A set of the Destiny’s Trinities trilogy by Teal Ceagh
2. The first two books in the Guns ‘n Lovers series by Tracy Cooper-Posey, Red Leopard and Black Heart
3. A copy of Solstice Surrender, Tracy Cooper-Posey’s paranormal romance.
To win, you need to comment below, and tell me one of the hero names from a Tracy Cooper-Posey book and a Teal Ceagh book. So that’s two hero names you need to mention in your comments. Any two hero names will do, as long as one from each “author” (so to speak).
Entries close by midnight, January 30, MST.

Thanks for outing yourself.
Its not thing at all. I write under several differnt names, because my true confessions series are different from my “life” series and of course I have written Erotic that NO ONE WILL EVER find out about because its ..welll let’s just say I use ALL THE WORDS ALL THE WAYS…
Go, enjoy.. all it says about you is that you are a talented, prolific and diverse writer. Continued success
Hi STori Diva — thanks for the comment. It’s interesting the number of authors who do write under several different names, that you’d never know unless they ‘fess up. I found it fascinating when I was asking for advice and feedback before I outed myself, just how many were juggling multiple balls.
I have found, though, that this is not one of my strengths. I tripped and gave myself away a dozen times over in the last few months. It didn’t help that my bloody English doesn’t look anything like American spelling, so Teal had to invent a British education, and all sorts of weird stuff to cover for it. I didn’t enjoy the cover up at all.
Tracy
Hey girl, I just want to pass along a big hug. Since I have been enjoying the heck out of Teal’s stories, it makes total sense to me that she is your alter-ego. No need to enter me in the contest since I’ve been very lucky lately to have read all the books you have listed. Looking forward to all your upcoming releases, this is going to be a wonderful year for all of us readers.
A big cheer for you on uncomplicating your life.
Thanks, Cathy — that means a lot to me. I thought for sure you’d be one of the people that had figured me out in advance!
Tracy
Whoa, Tracy/Teal! You’re much better at subterfuge than you give yourself credit for (and possibly, I’m one of the least observant people on the planet ;))! Thanks for sharing the secret–that couldn’t have been easy to pull off!
I actually haven’t managed to read all your two backlists yet, and am looking forward to catching up! Nicolas Escobedo and Diego Savage sound like equally appealing heroes–write on!
Hi Fedora — oooh…you picked two of my favourite heroes. I mean, I love ‘em all, but those are definitely up at the top of my list of my favourite heroes I’ve created. Diego so lived up to his name. I adored writing his downfall.
Good luck in the draw.
t.
I’m glad you finally let the cat out of the bag since it’s not healthy to keep secrets bottled up. Love the new site….your two personalities seem to be getting along great!
A hero from one of Tracy’s books is Luke Pierse.
A hero from one of Teal’s books is Blake Harvey.
Hi Joder: Thanks for the comment. I tend to agree. I was getting nervous and irritable, trying to juggle it all.
Good luck in the draw. You’re the first!
And yeah, I’ve been working all morning here merging the two sites together, adding the books, changing the headings. Now I can proudly say I’ve got thirty books published and actually point to them, and not have people start totting up on their fingers and come up short! :)
Tracy/Teal.
This is a suprise!! Way to go Tracy!! Good luck with your Teal Ceagh books. Checked out your Teal website. Great books and characters.
Tracy’s character: You have so many I like, but I loved Eyes of A Stranger so I will say David Black.
Teal’s character: They all look very good!! I will say just reading about them, Zachariah in Beth’s Acceptance.
Hi Judy, and thanks.
The vampire and the business man, huh? They’re both dark, too. Black in name, and black in nature. Good luck in the draw, Judy.
Tracy
Wow! Congrats and best wishes with this second part of your career! Yay, you! And looking forward to seeing you in October!
Thanks, Anny! I’ll still be sitting next to you at RomantiCon, though! Just with different looking books. :)
Tracy
May your sales increase a thousand-fold and may all your troubles be continents behind you.
That must have been soooo hard to juggle names! That’s amazing that you could seperate it all. Great job but I’m glad you no longer have to do that. LOL. Congrats on coming out and the big reveal!
Two names… let’s see… Wyatt from Mia’s Return and Nicolas from Red Leapord.
Thanks, Laurann.
Nicholas again, huh? Popular lad. :)
Tracy
Lucifer Furey Pierse (Tracy)
Diego Savage (Teal)
This is such great news, T/T. You must be a very busy woman. Keep up the great work, please. Your books are wonderful.
Thanks, Tracey. In part, the busy-ness is killing me. I’ve had to scale back, which is one of the reasons for the coming out. I can’t keep all these balls up in the air anymore. Bringing Teal over to my Tracy blog will help make life a little more simpler, so I can at least stand a chance of keeping up some sort of decent word rate in between all the life crises.
Cheers,
Tracy
Yay, you did it! Big congrats. Now take a deep breath and enjoy the jekyl/hyde author life. Weeeeeeeeee! *g*
Titania
Thankns, Titania — Yes, big, deep breaths!! Lots of them. You’ve no idea how nervous I was this morning just before this post went live!
Silly what we get obsessed about, isn’t it?
Tracy
I really had no idea…seriously. That’s so cool–I love the name Teal Ceagh. Your contest is easy-peasy, lemon squeezy. Mason from Ningaloo Nights of course’ by Tracy (that’s you) and Lindal from Beths Acceptance by Teal (that’s also you.) I really need to start keeping lists of all author pen names. We love your writing no matter how many names you have. :) Happy coming out of the closet day!!!
Hi Susan — actually Teal Ceagh…and here again, this is where I thought *someone* would have figured it out — it’s still really my name. It’s my initials. TLC. “L” is my middle initial, so if you just say the initials, you’re literally saying Teal Ceagh.
I guess it really isn’t as blindingly obvious to people as I thought it was all this time. I kept expecting everyone today to go “Oh, we know!”
And you’re the first one to chose Mason — of course, you would be!
Tracy
Wish you the best with your new venture. I’m sure it will work out for you. Looking forward to seeing you at RT con.
Thanks, Kathy — I’ll see you there.
Tracy
It’s the toughest thing ever to balance two identities. Perhaps a little ‘sanity saving’ was in order here so let me say…WELCOME TO THE DARK SIDE. No matter WHO you happen to be on any given day, you’re aces in my book. Can’t wait to see you in October, my darlin’.
Thanks, Regina! As one of the two-natured yourself, you’re the expert! See you at RomantiCon!
Cheers,
Tracy
Wow! Great books, great characters and great author(s)! lol
My choice would be:
Tracy Cooper-Posey Rhys Cellyn is my favorite character from Solstice Surrender. He is totally hot!
Teal Ceagh Brody Gallagher is very hot in a Kiss Across Time.
Hi Lisa, and thanks. I think you’re the first to pick Rhys and Brody. Good luck in the draw!
Cheers,
Tracy
Hi Tracy :)
LOVE the cool new website!
I’m glad your combined your pen names, it makes it easier to see ALL your pretty books 8D
The heros I picked are:
Tracy Cooper-Posey – Rhys Cellyn from Solstice Surrender, WOW what a hottie!
Teal Ceagh – Alexander from Mia’s Return.
Mindy :)
Hi Mina — thanks for visiting! Yes, I like this new look, too. It’s much cleaner and leaner.
Cheers,
Tracy
Wow, great giveaway.
My picks are
:
Lucifer Furey Pierse (Tracy)
Diego Savage (Teal)
Now we know who is who?? LOL Congrats and keep up the great writing.
Hi Brenda, and thanks!
Diego again, huh? Everyone’s picking on Diego, poor bugger. Wonder why?
Yeah, well, I’m not holding onto any more deep and dark secrets. Can’t speak for anyone else, though! :)
