Nice Review for Mia's Return
I just love Google Alerts. You end up finding little kernels of joy you otherwise might have missed. Like this review. It’s a bit old now, but I just found it yesterday.
Mandi at Smexy Books reviewed Mia’s Return for me – well – Teal.
Apart from a masterful plot summary that you should go over to Smexy to read (and I’ve seen some absolute stinkers, including reader reviews that have the plot so screwed up no one will ever want to buy the book after reading the review!), Mandi had this to say:
Mia’s Return is the second book in the Destiny Trinity series and it is just as steamy as the first, Beth’s Acceptance. If you want really well written sex scenes, this is definitely the book for you. Teal Ceagh does a great job of including many steamy scenes, but also writes enough plot to keep the story going.
I really enjoyed Alexander’s back story. Many times when an author puts a flashback in a book, I tend to get antsy to get back to present tense but this is not the case here. It is integral that we see Alexander’s and Mia’s relationship start and grow and I was greatly entertained to get their story. Teal Ceagh does a great job in a novella length book giving the reader an emotional connection to both Mia and Alexander. As I say that, I think Wyatt, the third in their trinity, gets left behind. I understand they can’t pick who is going to be part of their bond, but I just felt like we never really got to know Wyatt. He comes out of nowhere towards the end of the book and his part felt rushed and I think more background on him is definitely needed.
I am very interested to see where the story goes from here. We did not get a lot of the actual battle in this book, and I wonder how that will play out in the third book, Sera’s Gift.

You had me laughing regarding the plot screw-up remark. That’s why, when I review a book- I read every “last” word, and I take notes. I over analyze until I think I’ve seen it objectively and from every possible angle known to man. You know how some people have nightmares about public speaking? My nightmares are about typing the hero’s name wrong, seriously can you imagine? Oh, the horror! I agree, Mandi’s review was nicely summarized.
Hi Susan:
I feel for you, I do. I get to write way too many synopses and blurbs, so I know how awful it is to have to summarize a whole plot in one teeny little paragraph or two. Doing it well is a genuine art and it’s far too underrated.
Hollywood really knows how to do it well. That one line blurb they do for movies is fabulous. I try to do that for each book of mine, and it’s damned hard.
Cheers,
Tracy
