Monday Pulse Pause Moment: Gary Oldman In Fantasies
I have an almost-adult niece who has been following the Harry Potter movies and read all the books, and has drawn me into Rowling’s universe as well. As the books got bigger and the stories more complex, I stopped complaining so hard, I admit.
And when they cast Gary Oldman as Sirius Black I pretty much shut up altogether.
That man is fabulous in paranormals and fantasies. Look at Bram Stoker’s Dracula. And despite only have a cameo role in the Harry Potter movies, he dominated the screen.
I think it’s no small coincidence that some of the best actors in the world just happened to have ended up in the Harry Potter movies, chewing up the scenery in some of the best cameo roles of the decade. Jason Isaacs is another one, as I reported last week. (And it honestly didn’t occur to me until just now that this is the second Harry Potter actor I’m picking on!)
I also loved him as the bad guy in Airforce One. Remember that?

- Will Vampires Never Die? Will vampires ever die? Technically, no they won’t, depending on who you’re reading—unless they get staked, or decapitated. Sometimes even that’s not enough to kill them.
