Mash

A round-up of sites, links and other interesting tidbits I’ve seen and heard lately.

Getting Things Done in Outlook

If you’re a fan of the Getting Things Done style of task management, plus you’re an Outlook user, you’ll like this plug in. It combines the methodology in Dave Allen’s book with the functionality of Outlook.

This is a pay-for plug-in, but it’s seriously useful.

The Heartbleed Hit List: The Passwords You Need to Change Right Now

http://mashable.com/2014/04/09/heartbleed-bug-websites-affected/

If you haven’t heard, a security weakness was found in the HTML that structures the majority of websites. It’s fixable, but sites that are affected (and there’s a crap-load of sites that are) are recommending you change your log-in and password for that site.

This list keeps updating as sites apply the patch to their security (there’s no point in changing your password until they do).

How to Turn Off Facebook’s AutoPlay Video Setting

http://lifehacker.com/how-to-turn-off-facebooks-auto-playing-video-ads-1563822464

If the latest change to Facebook is driving you crazy, there’s a solution…sort of – you can’t turn off the auto play on your cellphone, but you have the option of turning it off if you’re not connected to a wifi network. It’s better than nothing!

But seriously, this latest ploy by Facebook is a genuine pain in the ass. My use of Facebook tailed off when freaks and weirdos began stalking me there. Now, with loud music and sound tracks firing off without warning as soon as I scroll through, I have even less motive to hang out there.

How I get the noise level to leave me alone, I plug earphones in. The only time I hear is when I plug the earphones into the ears. No noise at all…

Happy Mother’s Day..Not sure if you celebrate this up there but it’s coming from Southwest Florida so…

    Have a good Day.
