I Won! – Most Erotic Use of a Chocolate Chip Cookie – RomantiCon 2009
We’ve got dozens of photos, tons of gossip, and I have a five star review to share, but I’m so short on sleep and my feet hurt, and we’ve got to get ready for the Sunday night pizza party, and this is the first break I’ve got in 24 hours, so I’m stopping long enough to give you the big news.
I won one of the awards at last night’s banquet! Mr. Cover Model himself, Rodney Chapman, sashayed over, gave me a hug (that I barely remember, alas, because I was so shocked), and handed me the certificate and statue you can see on the left.
I’ve just got back from the bookfair, where I had both propped on my table, and the certificate stopped traffic as effectively as an anchor, and everyone wanted to know about the book, Ningaloo Nights.
I really wasn’t expecting to win anything at all because I’d looked through the categories, and when I saw this one, I had thought it curious that some other writer had clearly done something interesting with a cookie, but my story featured Tim Tams, not chocolate chip cookies — completely different species, if you know anything about Tim Tams at all. So I had settled back and got comfortable, thinking I wouldn’t have to do anything graceful and professional like nod and smile and thank the model for handing me my statue.
And therefore got shocked and surprised into bursting into tears all over Rodney’s shoulder. <grin>
We’re on the downhill slope to the end of the conference now. Mark and I have to pack, drive back to Canada and catch a plane back to Edmonton tomorrow, so I suspect that my next post will probably be from home — when I have a faster Internet connection and the better computer (this laptop is a lifesaver, but it’s pretty slow). So I’ll upload photos, gossip, and reviews when I get back to my office.

Congratulations, Tracy, now I really have to read this story. Have a safe trip home.
I remember that scene. Whew! Well deserved, T!
:)
Congrats Tracy, love the trophy! I read the novella, you really deserve it. It’s one I’ll re-read often.
Congrats Tracy! nice trophy! you go girl!I’m glad you had a GOOD time.
My aching back, feet and neck are telling me I had a VERY good time. My eyes are so bloodshot I look like I climbed into a tequila bottle and forgot to get out again. :) It was worth every busted vein and strained muscle. You guys seriously need to consider coming to the convention next year. They just announced the date: October 8. Bookings open up next month.
Thanks, Susan! I saw what you said to KatieBabs on your blog post. And I’m aware of KatieBab’s own reputation — I appreciate the plug! Cheers – Tracy.
Thanks, Julia!! Mate!
:)
It was such a delight to meet you, Tracy! I’m looking forward to next year!
Thanks, Anny! Chances are, we’ll end up sitting next to each other at the bookfair, too. I have your hair pick on my desk right now as I sort through all my stuff from the convention. And I still have a blog tour to catch up on…I don’t have tomorrow’s blog post written yet. ~wince~
