Hero Moment Of The Week
One of the highest rating posts on the blog is The Ten Best Romantic Moments in Film History, which not only gets high traffic, it was also highly debated at the time.
We like our heroes, and what they do to demonstrate their feelings, let’s face it.
So I thought I’d institute a Hero Moment of The Week. Each week we can salute a hero and his shining moment. It doesn’t have to be from a movie. It can be novel, TV, book, even real life (if we can all access it), around the net, from history. Just because I like getting that little tug in my heart when a hero does something just perfect, and makes my soul sigh (and the heroine’s knee weaken, usually, although she does her best to make sure he doesn’t know it!).
So for this week, I’m going to be entirely predictable and monotonous by picking on my perennial hero: Aragorn. This time, the personification of Aragorn by Viggo Mortenson in the Lord of the Rings movies. Specifically, the first movie, The Fellowship of the Ring, when Strider is first introduced. Aragorn has so many heroic moments, but at this point in time he is just Strider to the hobbits, and must protect them against the riders with nothing but his sword… I love this moment.

- Hero Moment of The Week: The Hero That Didn't Get The Girl - Andrew Lincoln in Love Actually I pulled this movie out the other day because I kept thinking of Bill Nighy singing that god-awful rendition of Love is All Around in that terrible British accent, and the Christmas theme that ran through the movie, and thought it was the perfect time to watch it, as I......
- Hero Moment of the Week - Oct 22 I'd heard about Desperado and El Mariachi and Once Upon A Time In Mexico for years, but never really focused in on them until I heard the tale of how they actually came into being. The first movie, El Mariachi, was made on the smallest of shoestring budgets, when the......
