Ellora's Cave Are Now Selling Kindle Versions on Amazon
Ellora’s Cave have finally figured out a deal with Amazon, and their books are now available as Kindle versions on Amazon.com. This is a big deal for Kindle owners, because it means they’ll be able to buy the books the same day they’re released on Ellora’s Cave.
Yep, no more waiting six months or so for the paperback to hit Amazon. The Kindle version goes live on Amazon the same day it hits EC’s website.
Cool, huh?
There is, of course, a minor drawback.
EC has something like 3,000 back-titles. Actually, I’m guessing wildly. I have no idea how many back titles they actually have. They put out maybe eight, twice a week, and have been in business since the year 2000. Some of those titles have gone out of print, and they haven’t always kept up that rate of production, so you do the math.
Converting all those titles to Kindle versions is going to take a little bit of time. Just a tad. EC are uploading and putting them on sale as fast as they can convert them. So if you search for “Ellora’s Cave” + “Kindle” you’ll get a listing of all the titles they’ve converted to date. Here, I’ve already done it for you. By the way, my books aren’t up there yet. I’ll let you know when they are.
Read Kindle books on your computer.
You don’t have to own a Kindle to read the Kindle version books. Amazon have now released a desktop reader for your computer that will read Kindle ebooks, and it’s free. You can download it here.
NOVEMBER 17 UPDATE
I heard a figure today, the approximate number of titles that Ellora’s Cave DO have: 2,500. I was pretty damned close, huh? So you can see that it’s going to take a while for all the Kindle versions to be uploaded. My only comfort is that I’m in the “C”s…
