One Trick That Will Drive Traffic To Your Blog, Guaranteed
Published on: Dec 17, 2009 @ 11:08
I drive by a lot of blogs, looking for suitable hosts for blog tours, and some of them are beautiful to look at — stunning header photography, gorgeous layouts. The owners have obviously gone to a lot of time and thought about the graphics and content, and the philosophy behind what they are doing. But their blog ranking just tanks.
An Alexa ranking of 23M or anything over 5M means you’re making some fundamental mistakes with your blog, and I don’t have to see your traffic stats to know they must be pretty bad.
Want to know one of the simplest tricks for driving traffic to your blog?
Post every day. Weekends included.
Every blog platform has a scheduling function, so this doesn’t have to be the chore it sounds like. Write two posts a day, and schedule them and pretty soon you’ll be three weeks ahead of yourself. At that point, taking the weekends off, or even posting only four days a week will be perfectly feasible.
I don’t mean to make this sound light or easy. I know perfectly well how challenging writing blog posts every day is. I have three blogs of my own, and manage more than a few others, and know how difficult those owners find it. In a later post, I’ll explain how to keep the ideas flowing for blog posts.
But if you post every day, then you will be ahead of the curve. Of the millions of blogs out there, only a small fraction post every day, and they’re the higher ranking ones. Post every day and watch your Alexa ranking climb, and your traffic along with it.
