50 New Romance Novel Blogs to Explore
Keira over at Love Romance Passion has posted her annual list of 50 New Romance Novel Blogs to Check Out for 2010, which, if you systematically work you way through the list one blog per week, will keep you busy for the year and help you find some pure gold in the blogosphere.
Another way you can do the same thing, and stay on top of newly emerging blogs throughout the year is to set up Google Alerts for yourself, using key words in your areas of interest. I have Google Alerts for keywords like “urban fantasy romance” and “erotic paranormal romance” and so forth and daily, Google reports back to me on blogs and websites that are talking about these subjects. If a new blog pops up, I’ll know about it and can check it out.

I’d give you a more meaty post today, but I’m helping one of my sons move back into the house: now both are back living with me, which means all three kids are back in the house. A year ago, Mark and I were empty nesters. Now we have a full house and in a month, one of Kate’s friends will be moving in with us, too, so we’ll be more-than-a-full house. Is this a sign of the economic times?
Personally, I don’t mind the full house at all, although we’re re-learning old habits. I’d got used to only having to wash dishes once a day! Now I’m back to twice and three times a day just to keep up. Ugh.
Have you heard stories similar to mine? People are tightening their belts, families sharing housing, and all sorts of frugal mindsets being dusted off and revamped for modern expediencies these days. The only economic cut I won’t make — I just flat-out refuse — is my high-speed Internet connection!

- What is Urban Fantasy Romance? I had to educate myself on this. For instance, until I read Katiebabs’ WTF post on Laurell K. Hamilton (among other things) I would have cleanly classified Anita Blake as contemporary paranormal romance. If Anita Blake is urban fantasy then so to by deduction must be Keri Arthur’s Riley......

- The Friday Gathering - 2009 New Year Edition I have to be honest, I'm not a big fan of the whole "new year" concept. To me January 1st is just another day, no different than December 31st or any other day of the year. I realize many people consider this to be a fresh start and a......
